We are looking at trialing a vein entry indicator device or "VEID". It is small device attached to the angiocath prior to insertion, when the the needle penetrates into the vein this device detects a pressure change and will emit a beeping sound. Anyone familiar with this device?Â
Here's a link: www.vascular.co.il/veid.html
I have seen it at industrial exhibits but not used it. The last time I saw it, it was not capable of use with a short peripheral catheter that had a safety mechanism. Has the company changed the product to allow its use with safety catheters?
