Does anyone know of any studies that speak to outcomes and comparisons of whether PICC/VAT RN's versus non PICC/VAT trained nurses perform PICC dressing changes with better outcomes?
It seems "logical" that as specialists, we are trained and equipped with additional knowledge regarding complications and the importance of sterile technique as it relates to CLABSI. This is not to say that a non-VAT RN can't perform a correct dressing change but as specialists, this is our...specialty.
