Vascular Access Device and IV therapy

We would like to change our electronic our medication admistration record (MAR) to indicate type of vascular access device required for infusion (i.e. via central line only or recommend infusion via PICC/CVC).  Our pharmacy policy for central line infusion is only for infusates with a pH greater than 900mOsm/L.  INS recommends central line infusion for infusates with a pH less than 5 or greater than 9 and osmolality greater than 600 mOsm/.  They are requesting evidence based studies to agree with the INS.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
