using biopatch on pedi piccs

need to hear from the pedi picc population regarding usage biopatch on pedi picc.  our experience shows biopatch placed according to manufacturer recommendation increases the incidence of piccs being pulled out some.  as u know "some" in pedi population can be significant ie. 1cm.  having some resistence from educatiors to place biopatch such that it compromises our line stability

What is being used for

What is being used for catheter stablization? You should be able to use a stablization device along with a Biopatch without any problems. Lynn

is the catheter being pulled

is the catheter being pulled out "some" during the dressing change or somehow just during the dwell time and in between dressing changes?   I guess what I need to know to help answer your question is how frequently this happens and how - are the kids pulling at it, is the tubing getting caught on stuff etc.  Thanks.
