Use of stopcocks vs manifolds

We are looking at using a manifold vs. treed stopcocks (multi stopcocks attached). Any EVP on stopcocks vs. manifold. We also have Bifuse and Trifuse available to use.  Bedside nurses feel that use of Bifuse for sedation or life supporting medication is not safe. Thanks again for all the great support.

 I have not found anything

I have not found anything comparing stopcocks to manifolds. Are you thinking about the new manifolds with the needleless connector attached or a regular manifold with stopcocks? Stopcocks, either indiidually or in a manifold, would have the same risk and that risk is a very huge one for contamination and infection. A manifold with a needleless connector would have the same risk as an individual needleless connector. There are many publications about the risk of stopcocks. Lynn

 There are numerous published

There are numerous published studies and articles about both needleless connectors and stopcocks. Providing a literature search and a reference list is not a free service I can provide but can do it as a consulting service, sorry. Lynn
