Has anyone found any evidence regarding TPN tubing change recommendations when lipids are y'd into the line? Do you practice 96 hour tubing changes for TPN and 12-24 hour tubing change for lipids, eventhough they may be combined in a small segment of the tubing? Or do you change the tubing for both every 24 hours? I do know of an NICU collaborative that is practicing the 96 hour TPN tubing change with the 24 hour lipid tubing change, but I am not aware of their references. Thanks.
Reference is CDC although I think the guidelines say 72 h for PN and 24 h for IVFE. Lynn
