Anyone like to share their understanding of a central line cart for PICC insertion and how it relates to TJC compliance and the National Patient Safety Goal? Does the cart have to be locked? Does it have to be inventoried/checked on a certain basis: weekly, daily, monthly, or only when opened? Does it have to be stored in a locked area when not in use? Any other tips? If you are using a cart is there a certain type/model/manufacturer you like?
