I am currently changing on how I treat thrombosis in my PICC line patients. I have a lady with a superficial thrombosis in basilic vein that has a 4fr picc. She started to complain of arm pain 4 days ago. She went for venous imaging and showed the thrombosis. She was started on lovenox and aquak pad. This is my question now what? I have been reassessing her and her symptoms are improving. No arm swelling and no redness at all.  Should I repeat the vein imaging study and how long do you suggest I let the lovenox work before rechecking. Obviously if the symptoms worsen and do not improve with lovenox the line will be pulled. Any suggestions would be helpful.   Â
