I was informed by one of the PICC nurses that he had placed a PICC in an adult in the saphenous vein. With U/S guidence He placed the PICC in the upper inner thigh. We have no policy for adult PICC placement in the lower extremity.
Anyone placed in this location on an adult pt? I have alot of concerns starting with DVT, lack of policy, competency etc.
