Can anyone help or give advice, A friend and I are starting a picc line business, we got all the legal stuff together, got US macbine, and all the supplies needed, made information packets, got list of hospitals, we've called and sent out info, some have called back wanting more info, we even had a few interviews, but the answer always the same, it's great what your doing, but we don't need your service right now.. what can we do too get their business, are we missing something. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 You need a thorough

You need a thorough understanding of techniques to market your service. Go to a bookstore and look in the business section to find lots of references. What you have done so far is just the tip of the iceberg. You must do lots more than this of follow up. Who is currently doing this service in each of these hospitals? Are they pushed for time and not meeting all of the needs? What problems are these hospitals having? Why did some reject your service? This also may be a matter of salesmanship. Marketing and sales are 2 different things. Find those facilities with a definite need, find ways to convince them that your service will meet those needs, then you can close the sale. You may have to sweeten the deal by offering to do staff education on care and maintenance periodically. Or give them reports of outcomes by tracking the devices you insert. Good luck with your business. Lynn

How much do mobile PICC line companies charge the nursing homes for every PICC placement? Any ball park idea?

SCORE

You might try talking to SCORE, which is a group of retired businessmen who mentor startups.  www.SCORE.org  They assist with developing a business plan, obtaining financing, marketing, etc.  Usually there is an effort to match the mentor with someone experienced in the same field, so you might just get a mentor that already knows the ins and outs of the medical industry in your area.

Outsource PICC business

You can contact me at [email protected] if you'd like.  I spent 25 years as an outsource team manager so I know something about this.  Most don't understand the basics of that biusiness.

I would strongly advise

I would strongly advise against sharing any fees or prices charged for services in a forum such as this. I monitor a legal nurse consultants listserv and this topic is never allowed because attorneys have advised them that this could be considering price-fixing which is a federal offense. If someone is willing to share that they charge, do it privately and verbally, no paper trail.
