Some nurses at my hospital currently utilizes Safesets on both venous and arterial lines. When it is used on venous lines, some times it's not being monitored (CVP).
Is Safeset safe to be on venous lines?
And is it safe to have the safeset hooked up without caps or monitoring?
I'm concerned about unintentional disconnections and patient sanguinating.
Is this a safe and usual practice for other hospitals too?
