Research/positions on Chito-seal hemostasis dressing

I'm writing a policy for our facility for the use of chito-seal - a hemostasis dressing made with chitosan - for those patient's with CVC's and coagulopathy or other condition that prevents hemostasis at the insertion site; for those patients that reverse taper, pressure dressings, etc. are not working.

I've seen a couple of references to other hemostasis products on this forum, but not much more info.  I've read Marge Galloway's reports on the AVA site.

Is anyone aware of professional positions and good research r/t vascular interventions on these types of products?  I'm not having much luck yet with my search.....

I have never seen any
I have never seen any positions or recommendations or guidelines about the use of hemostatic agents from INS and AVA. There is a statement in the ONS Access Device Guidelines about using such agents when excess bleeding occurs but nothing more about specific policies, etc. Lynn
