Does anyone have information regarding the advantages vs. disadvantages of regularly scheduled PICC exchanges in order to avoid blood stream infections?
I was under the impression that the CDC was not if favor of this practice. One of our doctors has started using this practice on a regular base, and we would like to present him with an article that might help us dissuade him from continuing to use regularly scheduled PICC exchanges.

CDC guidelines are in opposition to this. Also IDSA guidelines.
