Question about the 3CG system.... Is it possible to use the 3CG alone with another PICC? Example... Hooking up a regular PICC (BARD, Vygon. Wingmed) or any other with its guidwire and confirming tip location with the 3CG. Can I do that?

I asked this same question at INS 2012 in Las Vegas. The rep at the booth told me no. Unless things have changed since then, probably not.

the answer is no , so far
the stylet is the 3rd lead, so without it there is no ecg signal
however, we are using the ultrasound of the machine for all our cases, we have no problem with the resolusion of the ultrasound
