Platelet count and PICC

patient has a platelet count of 1100 And requires a PICC. Is the elevated count a contraindication?

any suggestions or experiences welcome!

No, there are no parameters

No, there are no parameters for any lab values related to coagulation or bleeding that would prohibit a PICC insertion. In fact, when a CVAD is required, a PICC is the safest type to insert because direct pressure can be applied to the site if needed. Jugular sites would also place pressure on the nearby carotid artery and subclavian sites are obscured by the clavicle.
