Please provide any info regarding bedside picc insertions for pts with vegetation on heart valves. Our team is using Sherlock directional system. We occassionally enter the right atrium. One cardiologist requested his patient's picc to be inserted in interventional radiology department to better ensure that the picc line does not come in contact with the vegetation on the tricuspid valve stating his concern that this could potentially cause septic embolus. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
