Hello,
I am wondering if any one has experience with a dedicated PICC Insertion Lab/Room rather than placing at the bedside/patient's room? I have searched the literature and have only found information comparing bedside placement with radiographic/IR placement.
Thank you,
I have never seen any data on this question. I have always placed at bedside in patient room, except for pediatrics where you need to allow patient to think of their room as the safe place. I have heard pros and cons for both. The biggest problem with a dedicated room is transport of patients. Who will do that? What difficulties will you have moving some patients?
