Is it ok to place a midline while blood cultures are pending results. We usually wait for negative results for 48 hours before a PICC insertion but I don't think midline falls in this same category. Could someone just clarify for me and thank you

Any VAD can be placed with pending or even positive blood cultures. There are no studies or standards or guidelines saying do not do this. What you are doing now is based on the professional opinion of your providers, not evidence.
