Mermel article on PIV-BSIs

Has anyone seen the Mermel article published in Healthcare Epidemiology, 2017:65 (15 November), p 1757-1762, entitled "Short-term Peripheral Venous Catheter-Related Blood Stream Infections:  A Systematic Review."  On pg 1760, he states:  "A PVC dwell time beyond 3 days independently increases risk of PVC colonization . . . . Pragmatic interventions should be instituted, such as education and compliance monitoring in regard to limiting PVC dwell time to 3 days."

Has anyone who implemented "as clinically indicated" PIV site changes reverted back to specified dwell times?
