My facility uses the full tray BARD Piccs. We have a separate max barrier kit that contains our sterile gown, scrub, face shield, and max barrier drape. Is it in the standards anywhere that says the Max barrier must be included with the Picc? In other words, the max barrierI still need to moved aside to get to my tray contents, should it matter if I choose to open another outer package for my max barrier?
No That is a procedure detail that does not belong in the SOP. You need to maintain the surgical level of aseptic non touch technique for all insertion procedures but the details of how many kits or how those kits are packed is your choice.
