Is anyone experiencing a manufacturer shortage of 1% lidocaine? We are being told by our pharmacy there is a national backorder and we have been unable to use the j tip which has been a part of our practice in our children's hospital for 5 years. I realize their are possible alternatives such as LMX and cold spray, but we have found the j tip to be an integral part of and an optimal topical agent for IV and PICC starts. Contacts from other hospitals are telling me they are not experiencing this shortage.
