Looking at the new standards, it mentions "leadless pacemakers". Is there anything we need to do different with PICC insertion for a patient with this device? Does it affect ECG tracings? Do they show up pon Xray? Haven't come accross one yet, but .... Thanks in advance.
A leadless pacemaker is only a capsule size device inserted into the heart. There is no battery pack and no leads from the battery to the pacemaker. The biggest issue with a regular pacemaker is the leads in the same veins as the CVAD. This is not an issue with a leadless pacemaker.
