Hello, I was wondering if any of you are now labeling your different lines attached to the patient for the line safety initiative ?
We are wondering about the different central lines used; wether we can label the PICC line and the Subclavian inserted or Juglar inserted central line just as "Central Line", or have a different label for each one. They both have the same qualities in regard to what is infused and safety protocols.
What are all of you doing? Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you Gina Ward, R.N., CPAN
Please notice that in the 2011 Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice, these are now considered to be the same type of line. Lynn
