I'm looking to provide some education to our ED and floor nurses to discourage a tendency to repeatedly attempt peripheral IV starts in patients who might be better served by earlier referal for PICC placement. Our PICC team (just me!) is new, and the habit of referral isn't there yet. Does anyone have a triage flow sheet. I'm envisioning something along the ACLS algorithm lines but lack computer skills to build my own efficiently.
