Help with pediatric picc flush protocols

Hi, I am trying to write a flush protocol for pediatric picc for my facility.  Starting from neonates and continuing up to adult flushes.

Are most protocols weight based or based on the size of the catheter in place.  Are most using 10 unit or 100 unit / ml flushes. Also how often are you flushing piccs when not in use.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am new to the site, and I am amazed at the amount of valuble information posted. Thanks in advance for any replies.

We do have weight based

We do have weight based protocols for NICU and pediatric patients.  We use 10u/ml concentration for them, but use saline flushes for adults.  I can't remember the frequency of the flushes for pediatric PICCs when not in use, because so many are in use!  I will have to check on that.  Right now isn't a good time, because we are in the middle of moving the children's hospital to the new site!  Woohoo!  What fun!  Have a wonderful new site that opens tomorrow.
