Due to IV tubing shortages, our hospital is looking at changing our IV tubing frequency change to 7 days from the current policy of 96 hours. Does anyone have any evidence based litature regarding this change.
Yes. Today we are sending out announcements about our new website. We are introducing a new product - Evidence Based Practice Reports. This will be a concise analysis of a specific question based on the available evidence. The first one I wrote was about management of continuous administration sets. This group will be the first to see this new product. Click here to get details
I wish Lynn's evidence search was available a year ago when I was writing policy about IV tubing change. The paper is worthwhile, post-policy-change, to corroborate that we made a good decision and didn't miss something.
Sorry it is too late for you, but maybe others are making these decisions. Also what suggestions to you have for other EBP reports from me? I am focusing on issues that are not directly answered by standards and guidelines, controversial issues, conflicting or the lack of evidence. I am interested in all suggestions. Thanks Lynn
