fractured arm with PICC previously placed in it

Would you remove the PICC and place in opposite arm?

Are you saying that the PICC

Are you saying that the PICC was already in place and some type of accident caused a break in the same arm during the PICC dwell time? If so, what bone is broken - forearm or upper arm? Relationship to PICC insertion site? Obviously if a cast is going to interfere with the PICC dressing change it must be removed, but if not there should not be a reason to remove it. Is the arm excessively swollen? Also interfering with circulation in that arm? I don't think there is a simple yes or no but this is based on patient assessment. For what infusion therapy was the PICC placed? How much longer will it be needed? All important factors.
