Flushing an Implanted Port

How often do you flush an accessed implanted port that is being used infrequently for medication administration?

Define infrequently. Routine

Define infrequently. Routine flushing of implanted ports has been at one month but is now extended to 2-3 months. If giving a med every 24 or even 36 h, thinking of vancomycin and renal failure, you can flush and lock after each dose. No need to flush more frequently.
