Has anyone heard of a method for restoring patency on a PICC line with an external valve called"Working the Valve"? If so can you elaborate as to what this entails.
I ahve never heard of such a procedure. I would recommend you obtain the recommendations from the manufacturer about this procedure. It sounds like it could damage the valve. Plus the material obstructing the catheter lumen is probably no where close to the location of the valve in the catheter hub. More than likely it is at the catheter's internal segment. Lynn
