For those of you who work in the world of home IV therapy - are you aware of any industry standard for calculating line days on patients, especially regarding time they spend in the hospital? We're a pediatric home IV service, and our kiddos go in and out of the hospital a lot. Is it necessary to subtract their hospital days (during which time we are not managing their central line) from our total number of line days? How do you manage your line days for your patients?
