Our team is asked frequently to place PICC or Midlines in patients with no mobility in upper extremities and have always declined these requests unless a patient is on hospice. One of the doctors at our facility is requesting documentation (I have sent the information on Virchow's triad, but he wants research references) on quadriplegic patients. I have not been able to find any clear cut statement about this particular patient population. Thanks in advance for your help.
