I've been out of clinical practice in the IV world for a few years. Could someone give me a list of the PICCs that are coated with antimicrobials. I know that there is a CVC with silver coating. Is there a PICC with silver? I know that there is a PICC with Rifampin and something else, and another with chlorahexadine. I just want to get up-to-date. Thanks.
Cook has a PICC with rifampin and minocycline. Teleflex, formerly Arrow, has one with CHG. Nothing with silver that I know of yet. Lynn

Correction to Lynn Hadaway coatings comment
Teleflex is Chlorhexidiene Acetate not Gluconate as a new coating not previously studied according to the product instructions for use.

Monica,
If you want to give me a call or send me an email I will be happy to answer your questions. I find that it is best to go to the manufacturer to answer specific questions as the information on this post answering you has significant errors. Since this is not a place for vendors to use as their marketing forum I would prefer to give you the answers to your questions via phone or personal email.
Lynn, I am happy to send you our antimicrobial information if that would be helpful.
