I'm writing a policy for our facility for the use of chito-seal - a hemostasis dressing made with chitosan - for those patient's with CVC's and coagulopathy or other condition that prevents hemostasis at the insertion site; for those patients that reverse taper, pressure dressings, etc. are not working.
I've seen a couple of references to other hemostasis products on this forum, but not much more info. I've read Marge Galloway's reports on the AVA site.
Is anyone aware of professional positions and good research r/t vascular interventions on these types of products? I'm not having much luck yet with my search.....
