I came across a company which makes (pediatric) pre-filled Heparin flushes. They use 1 unit/ml in a 3 ml syringe? Anyone tried this yet in the adult population?
This reminds me of what we did (a long time ago) in Germany; we did drew up some heparin into a syringe an injected back into vial (don't remember concentration), then used the "heparin coated" syringe to draw up saline (single vial) and used that for flushing of our central lines (3 way stopcocks back then). Worked great though.....
Some NICUs use this prefilled syringe.
