Diaphoretic Patients

I am trying to gather information on the best method of skin prep for diaphoretic patients when applying a peripheral securement device.  Is anyone aware of any guidelines or studies addressing this issue?

Thank you in advance.

I would say use skin prep
I would say use skin prep and there are specific TSM dressing made for such patients ,such as Tegaderm HP. I would also perform frequent monitoring to prevent migration of the catheter. That is what we do,but I do not know of any specific studies. We also use hypa-fix to border and secure the tails. We love that product. Also the Biopatch will absorb eight times it weight in fluid, further protecting the site a bit. These dressing can be very challenging and these patients often need frequent dressing changes
