Does anyone have a system of communication with radiology to notify you if a PICC line is noted malpositioned in a later film (a film ordered for diagnostic reasons, not line placement)?Â
We usually find out only by chance, or cath is problematic (sluggish, repeat occlusions with other issues ruled out).Â
Thanks,
Mari

The patient care nurses at our hospital are required to check the latest x-ray reports when a patient has a central line...or the rad. calls the floor with the result if there is a malposition. The nurse then calls us.
