I am the process of updating our policy and procedures for PICC lines.  I am in need of reference for the lidocaine use in PICC placement, especially using MST.  INS refers to the intradermal prior to cannulation with the needle.  I can not find any reference for the amount given prior to placing the introducer. The amount I use varies on the vein depth usually 1-3ml.  Any help would be appreciated.  Amy Graham
