There is no difference in the change frequency according to CDC and INS, however povidone-iodine is not longer the preferred skin antiseptic agent. TSM dressing should be changed at least weekly and tape and gauze should be changed every 48 hours. Povidone-iodine use requires at least 2 full minutes to become thoroughly dry before you put on the next dressing.
