California RNs clearing PICC lines

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if there are any PICC Nurses in California that are currently interpreting Chest XRays and releasing PICCs.Â I am trying to set up a program here for us to do so, and our radiologists are very supportive.Â If any of you have anything you could share with me (policies, forms, ideas, etc), would you please send it to me directly at [email protected]

I asked the California BRN

I asked the California BRN about RN's interpreting PICC tip placement and releasing catheters for use. The indicated that this was within the scope of practice for RNs who have been trained and demonstrate competency.

We are currently developing our policy and competency program.
