Discontinuing PICCs
Does everyone have the patient lie flat for PICC removal since it's a "central line" or can they sit up since it's in a peripheral site?

My outpatients are sitting

My outpatients are sitting in a chair, inpatients are in bed but no reason to lay them flat.

No reason to lay them flat - the insertion site is in the periphery, and comparatively small, and is able to be easily compressed to prevent an air embolus.
