Could anyone tell me what size Gauge IV catheter should Vasopressors be infuse through?
My hospital policy states to infuse vasopressors through a 20G. However, arent vasopressors considered to be a vescicant? If so, then wouldn't a 22G PIV be more appropriate for increased hemodilution?
Thank you
Yes vasopressors are vesicants. And yes, the smallest gauge catheter should be used or one with a great CVR.
