If IVF's are infusing, what is the recommendation on scheduled flushes? Does a continuous infusion negate the need to flush the line as part of the care and maintenance of the line?
With continuous infusion, flushing is only indicated when clinically necessary. Includes blood reflux, pump occlusion alarms, patient complaints of any discomfort. There is no routine or scheduled flushing that is needed.
