Pharmacist

We have a pharmacist that follows patients discharged to home with IV antibiotic therapy. She see's them in ID clinic when they have their appts. If the picc team trains and does competiencies is it acceptable for the pharmacist to remove the picc when it is no longer needed (per ID).  We would incorporate that into policy as well.     TIA

The answer completely depends

The answer completely depends on the legal scope of practice as written in the specific state pharmacy act and what the state board of pharmacy has to say about how these decisions are made.
