Probe

Any tips on holding the ultrasound probe so not to apply to much pressure. Also as long as the vein isn't collapsed does it really matter how much pressure you apply?

I struggled with that when

I struggled with that when first learning how to do lines.    It is something that gets better the more you do the lines.

It is important to be consistent though, you are making decisions based on vein depth and size and location and the amount of pressure you are applying does impact those things.

I tried to pay attention to the "tension" I had in my hand and forearm in both arms.   I also used the positioning of my arms during insertion to help keep the pts arm in proper position too.

If you keep it on your mind  and watch that screen change when you relax tension it will become a routine for you.
