I have been a nurse for the past 30 years and for the last 2 1/2 working as an industry partner. My company works with Sales Distributors who occasionally have only a little medical background. I want to offer them a quick resource of an overview of Vascular Access types and indications and the locations usually placed or can be placed. Pictures and even common "slang" used would be great too. I have searched and so far can only find a Canadian resource that is a start. Does anyone have any tool they user for beginner nurses without having to pay for a course, etc.?
This information is included in all the textbooks on infusion therapy. The most basic one was released in January 2018, Infusion Therapy Made Incredibly Easy. This is written for beginners and has a chapter on peripheral vascular access devices and a chapter on central vascular access devices. Slang words are never included in textbooks. Your only other option is to contract with a consultant to create this tool specific to your needs.

VACC has a track for industry partners with about 10 domains (I think). They can take an exam and have their knowledge base validated. vacert.org
