Confirmation of central line tip location in lines placed prior to admission?

What is the current best practice to verify central line tip location for patients that are admitted with a line that was placed prior to arrival?

What I have my homes do is

What I have my homes do is demand a CXR or ECG report showing proper tip placement from the inserting facility before the patient arrives at their final destination.  So, if they have proof of SVC placement and the nurse who gave the report said that the catheter has two cm external, and upon admission, I see two cm external and I verify no s/s of site issues when doing the admission dressing change, and I obtain a brisk blood return the color and consistency of whole blood, then I can reasonably rest assured that I have a patent IV catheter in place.
