I am setting up a US-PIV access program and would like to know of anyones experience with these codes?
This is our PICC code:
36569 –Peripherally inserted Without subcutaneous port/pump Age 5 and older
Can we use the ultrasound guidance code with it ?
Can we use it for PIV placement?
+76937 – ultrasound guidance for vascular access
76937 (-26) the -26 might not apply
Ultrasound guidance for vascular access requiring ultrasound evaluation of potential access sites, documentation of selected vessel patency, concurrent real-time ultrasound visualization of vascular needle entry, with permanent recording and reporting (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure)
