In light of the mini-bag shortage, we are looking at alternatives for administration, as we do not have enough syringe pumps. We are talking about buretrols, however that is not our 1st choice. Is there a US standardized chart of antibiotics that can be pushed, along with time required for the push?
thank you
I have not seen such a list in a long time. I know there are publications about pushing ABX and they would have a list. It is mainly cephalosporins. You can look up each ABX on your hospital formulary in a resource such as Intravenous Medications, a yearly handbook as that would have the needed information. Lynn
