At our facility we currently use Bacteriostatic saline pre venipuncture for pt. that request "numbing medicine" and for pt. that we do ultrasound guided peripheral IV's. I am being asked by pharmacy if we would consider using the JTip for our adult population. I have read posts on the forum and most reference using it for pediatric patients.How many are using the JTip on adult patients and how effective is it when using ultrasound for those pt. with deeper veins.
