Patient stated that she had a history of asystole when she had a lidocaine subcu for biopsy. What should we use to replace Lido for PICC insertion? Thanks.
I have always had good luck with Bacteriostatic Saline. To my understanding it is the action of the Benzyl Alcohol. This also does not have the Vasoconstrictive property of Lidocaine. Hope this helps. Craig
